The 2025 Christmas Panto was 'Cinders…not the girl you thought she was'.

A wonderful script and direction by the award-winning Binx led to our most enjoyable and successful productions yet.

The cast and crew were all volunteers and identified as LGBT+ or an ally.

The three nights were sold out the week before performances. The production was at the gem of a community theatre, Hebden Bridge's Little Theatre. Out in the Valley would like to thank the HBLT committee for their help and support throughout. We were made to feel very welcome.

Out in the valley would like to thank Hebden Royd Town Council and Calderdale Council for they kind support.

There was a slight hitch on the opening night with a (luckily false) fire alarm just minutes into Act 2. Fortunately, the cast took the opportunity to stay in character and cheer the waiting crowd before resuming our performance (Oh no we didn't! Oh yes we did!).

The audience were well versed in their role in panto ('It's behind you!') and treated us to roaring applause and a standing ovation on the last night.

The whole team worked wonders, with special thanks to:
  • Binx, our award-winning writer and director who battled through Covid-19 and did so much extra to the role of director, including sound design
  • David Anthony Kennedy not only played the Cowardly Lion, getting slapped by Dorothy in the process (don't worry, it was in the script), but also designed and created the myriad of stunning costumes you can see in the selection of phonographs, below.
  • Grace Jenkins (they / them) for the dazzling choreography
  • Alison Crutchley, Choir Maestro. The Caterwalers not only opened the show, but provided beautiful, sonorous interludes throughout
  • Mike Stephens (he /him) along with Rachel Porter (she / her) and Anji Kayte, and David Anthony Kennedy for the sets, props and not squishing the cast as they took off the bridge, fireplace and trees!
  • Please see the Programme, above for further details and thanks.

If you are interested in joining future productions, why not get in touch?
